Another round of snow and squalls continue

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison brings you the latest details on the London area forecast, with snow squalls, and high amounts of snow accumulation.

Snow squall warnings continue into the afternoon in the northern parts of the region.

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison said that those warnings have been accompanied by heavy snowfall, “Some heavy flurries in Huron County areas like Exeter and Goderich picking up some heavier amounts of snowfall, digging out once again, flurries as we head into the late afternoon evening in London, but not expecting any accumulation.”

Along with that snow, we’re facing frigid temperatures, “It’s going to be bitterly cold overnight tonight,” cautioned Atchison. “The wind chill will have us feeling like minus 20 and that’s where we’ll start your Thursday morning.”

Another snow-producing system moves into the Forest City, “We have another weather system on route for Thursday,” warned Atchison. “This one will bring accumulating snow starting overnight tonight and into your day Thursday morning.”

Atchison said London could see five to eight centimeters overnight and through Thursday morning, tapering off into the afternoon.

Wednesday: Flurries ending early this morning then mainly cloudy with 60 per cent chance of flurries. Wind west 30 km/h gusting to 50. High minus 5. Wind chill near minus 16.

Wednesday Night: Mainly cloudy with 40 per cent chance of flurries. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. Low minus 12. Wind chill minus 16 this evening and minus 22 overnight.

Thursday: Flurries. Local amount 2 cm. Wind southwest 30 km/h gusting to 50. High minus 4. Wind chill minus 20 in the morning and minus 11 in the afternoon.

Friday: Cloudy. High zero.

Saturday: Cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries or rain showers. High plus 1.

Sunday: Cloudy with 30 percent chance of flurries. High minus 8.
