A 36-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman are facing charges after a crime spree that lasted over a month and a half at various locations around Winnipeg.

The seven thefts took place between December 14, 2012 and January 30, 2013, during which time five cell phones, one wallet, personal identification, and two parked vehicles were stolen. The incidents occurred on River Ave., Osborne St., Main St., McPhillips St., Kenaston Blvd., the area of Hargrave St. and Graham Ave., and the area of Balmoral St. and Broadway.

On January 31, 2013, police said they located one of the stolen vehicles at a traffic stop on St. Mary Ave. They created a traffic stop and took a man and woman into custody. During the traffic stop, police recovered some of the stolen property as well as break-in tools.

The man is charged with four counts of possessing property obtained by crime, possessing break-in instruments, four counts of theft under $5,000, and driving while disqualified. He was detained by police.

The woman is charged with possessing property obtained by crime and mischief over $5,000 in damaging a business in the 300 block of Colony Street on September 9, 2012. She was released on a promise to appear in court.
