A man has been charged with a number of offences after a traffic stop Saturday night, said police.

Officers pulled over a vehicle with five people inside at the corner of Notre Dame Avenue and Simcoe Street at around 10:30 p.m.

Winnipeg police said a man ran from the vehicle as it came to a stop.

Travis Adam Findlay, 33, was arrested a short distance away.

He has been charged with property and identity theft offences, as well as breach of probation.
