Early Thursday morning, police were in the area of Aikins Street and Anderson Avenue.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on December 10, police said they encountered a man known to possibly carry firearms.

They said when they exited their cruiser, the man fled on foot. During the chase, he threw a gun into a yard, which later was determined to be a sawed off .22 calibre rifle.

Police said the foot-chase lasted several minutes until the man was caught and taken into custody.

Police charged 31-year-old Joshua Ryan Duprat of Lac Du Bonnet with several weapon-related offences.
