The crash was reported around 7 p.m. at PR 306 and Highway 14 in the RM of Rhineland, near Plum Coulee.

RCMP said a pickup truck was northbound on PR 306, crossing Highway 14, when it was hit on the driver's side by an eastbound semi-trailer. The crossing on PR 306 is controlled by a stop sign, said officers.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to hospital in Winnipeg with serious injuries.

The driver of the semi-trailer was not injured.

Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the collision, said RCMP. Witnesses reported road and weather conditions were good at the time of the crash.

RCMP continue to investigate.
