A former Winnipegger who lost his daughter in the Newtown, Connecticut school shootings will perform at the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival Monday.
Jimmy Greene is performing at the Manitoba Theatre Centre along with the Curtis Nowosad Quintet.
Greene lost his daughter Ana Marquez Greene in the Newtown shootings back in December 2012.
The family had recently moved from Winnipeg to Connecticut.
This is Jimmy Greene's first performance in our city in almost two years.
In a statement, Greene says his family is grateful for the support they have received from the Winnipeg community
