Winnipeg police have arrested five people for their alleged involvement in a drug bust that seized more than $60,000 in cocaine and cash.

Police obtained a warrant to search a residence in the 500 block of Besant Street, and executed a search on Thursday.

Three men and two women, all in their twenties, were arrested for their alleged involvement.

The investigation resulted in the seizure of the following:

- 22.9 ounces of cocaine with an estimated street value of $41,220
- Approximately $20,000 in Canadian currency
- Packaging materials and drug paraphernalia

Police have charged 25-year-old Joel Richard Bruneau from Winnipeg with several drug-related offences including trafficking cocaine.

He has been detained in custody.

The four other accused were released via promise to appear and are facing similar drug related charges.
