Police say sex offender released from jail at 'high risk' to reoffend

Officers issued a public notice about the release of a convicted sex offender from Headingley jail on Aug. 13.

Police said Luigi Deangelis, 47, is expected to reside in Winnipeg.

“Deangelis has participated in sex offender treatment programs. He is still considered a high risk to re-offend. All adult females are at risk of sexual violence,” said police in a release.

He will be subject to a long-term supervision order, including requiring he abstain from alcohol and report all female relationships to a parole supervisor.
