A 24-year-old man faces numerous charges in connection with a sexual assault on Sunday morning.
Around 5:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of Selkirk Avenue and Parr Street.
A police investigation determined a 23-year-old woman had entered a vehicle driven by a man.
The man then made sexual demands, which the victim refused, said police. The suspect prevented the victim from leaving the vehicle and drove her to a nearby back lane and pulled out a knife.
A serious sexual assault then took place, said officers.
The victim was released from the vehicle and police were called.
Officers found the suspect and arrested him in the area.
Ryad Ashley Insanali, 24, has been charged with multiple offenses, including sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and breach of probation, said police.
