Here is what is open and closed in Winnipeg this Thanksgiving long weekend:
All civic offices are closed on Monday, Oct. 9.
Recycling/garbage
Recycling, garbage, and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled on Thanksgiving Day for those with Monday as their collection day.
Winnipeg Transit
Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday, Oct. 9.
Leisure centres
All city leisure centres are closed on Monday, Oct. 9.
Leisure centres will operate on regular hours on Saturday, Oct. 7 and Sunday, Oct. 8.
Swimming pools
All city indoor swimming pools will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9 except for Pan Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.
Pan Am Pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Libraries
All city public libraries are closed on Monday, Oct. 9.
Online library services are available anytime on the city’s website.
Animal Services Agency
The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9.
Cemeteries
Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visits from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. all weekend, including Monday.
Cemetery offices are closed on Monday, Oct. 9.
Parking
The Winnipeg Parking Authority will be open Friday, Oct. 6 during regular hours. It will be closed the rest of the weekend.
Golf courses
All city golf courses will be open on Monday, Oct. 9, with the exception of Crescent Drive Golf Course.
Malls
CF Polo Park, St. Vital Centre and Kildonan Place will be open as follows:
- Friday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Liquor Mart
Most Liquor Marts in Winnipeg and Brandon will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7.
The Cityplace, Hargrave & Ellice, Main & Pritchard, Pembina Village Express, Jefferson Express, and Brandon West End Express locations will each close at their regular time.
All Liquor Marts in Winnipeg and Brandon will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8 and Monday, Oct. 9, except for Cityplace, which will be open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and closed on Monday.
