Taz Stuart, Winnipeg’s entomologist since 2004, is no longer working with the City of Winnipeg, CTV News has learned.
The man responsible for controlling bugs such as mosquitos, bedbugs and caterpillars, and who is often seen in the media, appears to have a kept a low profile in the last month.
As a practice, the city does not comment on matters related to human resources, spokesperson Steve West said. He said he cannot confirm Stuart’s last day of work.
When asked about Stuart’s work and time with the city, West said the city ran an effective control program and expects to continue to have effective programs.
When asked about the search to find a replacement, West said that process hasn’t begun yet, but will take place in the near future.
