RCMP raided a large grow operation in the tiny homestead of Camp Moron Tuesday morning in the RM of Gimli.

$2 million worth of marijuana was found in one house. RCMP say the more than 2,000 plants were destined for the drug trade.

Neighbours living near the targeted house had no idea what was going on.

"I'm absolutely shocked - way out here I would never believe someone would do that," said Wayne Nelson.

RCMP say the operation was well-hidden. "It was very well ventilated to the point you could hardly smell marijuana when you walked into the house. Even though the house is two thirds full of plants," explained Sgt. Mike Croisier.

Police had been watching the house for quite some time. Officers didn't think anyone actually lived there, Two men were in the house though, when officers raided the home Tuesday morning. One tried to get away but was quickly arrested.

Both suspects are from British Columbia and are now facing charges. They are both in custody and face a number of charges including production of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
