New bowling alley opens at former Windsor Bowling Lanes location

A new bowling alley is breathing new life into the Windsor Park community and filling the gap left behind from the closure of a neighbourhood staple.

It’s called Lizzie Lanes, and it’s located at 678 Elizabeth Rd., where Windsor Bowling Lanes used to be.

Jeffery Patrick, director at Lizzie Lanes, said the space had been for sale for almost a decade, and he decided to revive the bowling alley to give neighbourhood families a place to go.

“I looked into purchasing, and I bought the place,” he said in an interview on Thursday.

“I’ve been renovating, and now it’s open for the public to come and enjoy.”

Patrick said the experience is all new to him, noting he has never owned a business and hasn’t bowled in decades.

However, he said this is something he wanted to do for his community members and give them a place to bowl, watch sporting events, and listen to live music.

“It’s not just a bowling alley,” he said. “It’s just a good, fun place.”
