The end of 2015 also marked the final and busiest night for Operation Red Nose.

More than 150 drive team volunteers hit the streets New Year’s Eve, completing 301 safe rides home.

The service ran 11 nights during the 2015 festive season.

More than 1,400 calls were answered with help from about 800 volunteers.

“They saw us through a busy holiday season. nice warm weather, so lots of people were out celebrating. It was a great year all the way around," said Sharra Hinton, from Operation Red Nose Winnipeg.

Those using the service last night donated $7,300 to Operation Red Nose.

In total, more than $35 thousand was collected.

The money stays in Winnipeg to supports local swimmers.
