RCMP say a 32-year-old man from Niverville is dead after the motorcycle he was driving collided with an SUV.

The crash happened Thursday around 6:30 p.m. at an intersection on Provincial Road 311, between Highway 59 and Niverville.

The driver of the motorcycle was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said it appears the motorcycle was travelling westbound on Provincial Road 311 when it collided with the passenger side of a Chevy Blazer that was heading north bound on Road 20 East. The intersection is controlled by a stop sign, said RCMP.

None of the four teenage occupants of the SUV are reported to be injured.

Police continue to investigate the collision. The name of the deceased will not be released.
