Salmon fillet - 2

Salt & pepper - To taste

Canola oil - As needed

Cold water - 1/2 cup

Honey - 1/4 cup

star anise, whole - 3

Soy sauce - 1 tbsp.

Sesame oil - 1 tsp.

Oil the salmon and season it with salt & pepper. Place it on the BBQ. While the salmon is grilling, place all of the remaining ingredients in a frying pan. Put on high heat and bring it to a boil. Reduce until it is thickened. By this time the salmon should be almost done. Place the salmon in the glaze and turn it carefully to ensure it is evenly coated with the glaze but not broken. When the mixture cools it will harden a little like candy. If this occurs before you serve it the just add a little more water. I almost forgot to mention to remove the star anise before you serve the salmon.
