Officers charge suspect with first-degree murder for shooting at Sals restaurant last fall

Winnipeg police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man at a Salisbury House restaurant on Pembina Highway in September.

Jeffrey Michael Lau, 23, was gunned down in the restaurant in the 700 block of Pembina Highway on Sept. 27, 2012 at 3 a.m.

Lau was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later died from injuries.

A second man was also shot and was taken to hospital in unstable condition, but was later upgraded to stable.

Officers said a lengthy investigation led to an arrest on Feb. 21, 2013.

Winnipeg police said Friday that Devin Kingsley Hall, 26, has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and multiple firearms offences.
