Police have released sketches of two suspects wanted in connection with the serious sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on Friday.

The teen was walking in the area of Scotia Street and Jefferson Avenue around 8:30 p.m. when a large white van with two male occupants inside it pulled over.

Police said the suspects forced the victim into the van and seriously sexually assaulted her.

The first suspect is described as a white male, 25-years-old, six feet two inches (188 centimetres) in height, with a muscular build, a balding hairline and a long beard. He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball cap with a long peak.

The second suspect is described as a black male in his twenties, with short hair, wearing all black clothing. The van is described as a white Sprinter panel van with no rear windows.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspects is asked to contact investigators at 986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 786-8477.

Police would also like to speak with an older female who may have been walking a small, white dog in the area around the time the incident occurred.
