OPP looking for owners of stolen property including hot water tank, 25 boxes of flooring in eastern Ontario

Ontario Provincial Police are looking for the owners of several items that were recovered as part of a theft investigation in the Russell area.

OPP said the investigation began Nov. 19, 2024, when two furnaces were reported stolen from a construction site in Russell. On Jan. 14, 2025, police searched a home in Cornwall and found $100,000 worth of stolen items, including one of the furnaces reported stolen in Russell.

Two people are facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime and trafficking in stolen goods.

Police are looking for the owner or owners of several items that were seized this week.

Investigators say they have not been able to locate the rightful owners of the following items:

• One King Canada generator
• One Porter Cable air compressor
• One York air conditioner
• One Environsense hot water tank
• Twenty-five boxes of Mainstays engineered flooring.

“Similar thefts have been reported in nearby regions, including the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry, as well as the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. There may be victims in these areas whose property was recovered during this investigation,” the OPP said.
