The Pan Am Pool will shut down for nearly two months to ready the facility for the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

The city said the pool will shut down on July 25 and reopen in late September.

The pool’s original 50-year-old bulkhead will be replaced with a new dual-bulkhead system in preparation of the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

There will also be interior renovations, the city said, including an improved lounge space in the public area and front entrance, as well as upgrades to an adjacent parking lot.

The city said swim opportunities and summer swimming session programming will be available at other indoor pools across the city.
