Police arrested three male suspects for armed robbery on Saturday night after officers were alerted to a string of incidents that began at a North Kildonan bank.

At about 9:20 p.m., the suspects went to bank in 1100 block of Rothesay Street, where one of the suspects confronted a 24-year-old man and demanded his money and jewellery, officers said.

When the victim handed over some money but refused to give up his jewellery, he was punched and the suspects fled in a vehicle, officers said.

The victim suffered minor injuries that did not require any medical attention.

About ten minutes later, the three suspects went to a restaurant in the 800 block of McLeod Avenue. One of the suspects, armed with a firearm and disguising his appearance, confronted 43-year-old female clerk and demanded money.

She handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled to the vehicle. The clerk was not injured.

The three suspects left the scene of that incident, but were spotted by police officers in the area of Regent Avenue and Lagimodiere Boulevard.

The officers attempted to pull the vehicle over; however, it sped away, reaching 100 kilometers per hour.

The brief pursuit ended when police successfully deflated the vehicle's tires in area of the 200 block of Dawson Road.

Dallas Tyler Friesen, 26, of no fixed address, was charged with numerous offences, including two counts of armed robbery. Friesen was previous charged with three counts of armed robbery in relation to a string of incidents in June and July 2006, according to information released by police at the time.
