Police dogs were called in to catch two men who stole a truck and cattle trailer near Ste. Rose du Lac.

Shortly after 4:00 AM on Sunday, officers from the Dauphin RCMP detachment were informed by the owner of the truck that he was following it toward Dauphin. The police located the occupants and the vehicle approximately 11 kilometers east of the city.

Police say while the driver was being arrested, the passenger fled from the vehicle. The Police Dog Service was contacted to help find the man. He was located inside a shed of a nearby farm yard and arrested without incident.

Kain Cody Wagner of Winnipeg, has been charged with impaired driving, theft, and breach of probation.  Matthew Allen Sutherland of Winnipeg, was charged with theft, breach of recognizance, and breach of probation.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear in Provincial Court in Dauphin on Monday.
