Winnipeg police are searching for several suspects in two separate armed robberies that took place Wednesday evening.

The first incident took place around 6:45 p.m., in the 1500 block of St. Mary’s Road, where police said they were called to an Instaloans being robbed by two men in balaclavas.

Police said one man had a handgun, but it was never fired, and there were no injuries. The suspects made off with cash.

Then at around 8:45 p.m., police said two male suspects wearing balaclavas robbed a Rogers Plus in the 2800 block of Pembina Highway.

According to police, each suspect had a gun and a knife, and took cellphones from the business. No weapons were fired and there were no injuries.

The suspects in the Pembina incident are described as white males, about five feet 11 inches tall (180 centimetres), with skinny to medium builds, in their mid twenties with fair complexions.
