Winnipeg police say a convicted sex offender is being released from jail Thursday and advise that females under 18-years-old are at risk.

Officers say Gregory William Tottle, 64, was scheduled to be released from prison on Dec. 24 and is expected to take up residence in Winnipeg. Tottle has taken some sex offender treatment programs in jail but is still considered at high risk to re-offend, say police.

Tottle has past convictions for sexual assault against a 10-year-old girl, and another of his victims was a two-year-old child, say police. In 2007, he was sentenced to 25 months for sexual interference.

Tottle is described as a white male, five feet eight inches (173 cm) in height, weighing 167 pounds (76 kilograms) with grey hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who wishes to speak to a police officer about Tottle can contact the Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit at 984-1888.

Police say any vigilante action or unreasonable conduct towards Tottle will not be tolerated.
