A convicted sex offender is being released from Stony Mountain Institution today and police said he poses moderate to high risk to male children. he is expected to live in Winnipeg.

Graeme Kyle Brown, 27, was previously convicted of sexual interference and making and possessing child pornography in relation to acts against two boys aged 8- to 10-years old that were videotaped, said police.

While Brown participated in some sex offender treatment programs while in prison, he is still considered a moderate to high risk to re-offend and male children are at risk of sexual violence, officers said.

Brown is described as a white male, five feet seven inches in height (171 centimetres), with brown hair and green eyes.

Police released information about Brown so that members of the public can protect themselves. However, any form of vigilante activity or other unreasonable conduct directed at Brown will not be tolerated, officers said.
