Winnipeg police have laid charges against two people robbed a home while the occupants slept upstairs.

Police said two people broke into a home in the 100 block of Selkirk Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m. Friday. They stole alcohol, electronics, jewelry and other items before fleeing, according to police.

The home’s residents heard noises coming from the main floor and called the police.

After officers searched the nearby area with the canine unit, a man and woman were found and arrested.

Jennifer Lee Colquhoun, 32, is now facing charges of break and enter and breach of probation. Darren Lee Parisian, 26, is also facing multiple charges, including break and enter and failure to comply with conditions of a recognizance.
