Winnipeg police were showing off a big haul of drugs and guns on Wednesday.
Members of the organized crime unit made the bust in the evening of Monday Oct. 20. They were conducting a drug investigation in the Garden City area and pulled over a suspicious vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was bountiful. Police seized a kilogram of cocaine worth about $45,000 as well as another smaller amount of cocaine worth about $3,000.
Two people were arrested on the spot, and a further search of a residence in the 1300 block of Leila Avenue revealed so much more.
Police found two firearms, one of them loaded, another half ounce of cocaine with a street value of $23,000. They also nabbed five ounces of packaged cocaine with a value of about $5,000 dollars, as well as $700 worth of marijuana.
Police also seized $25,000 in cash, and some drug paraphernalia as well.
A third suspect was arrested when the residence was searched.
Twenty-one-year-old Julian Ramkaran, a 52-year-old male, and a 50-year-old female have been arrested and face numerous drug and weapon related offenses.
Ramkaran was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
The other male and female were released on a Promise to Appear.
McPhillips Street bust
In an unrelated incident police pulled over another man in the area of McPhillips Street and Machray Avenue.
They seized three pounds of marijuana worth about $6,000.
A forty-two year old male has been arrested and is facing charges of possession for the purposes of trafficking.
He has been released on a promise to appear.
