Police have identified the man killed in a car crash Monday as 25-year-old Matthew Francesco Grestoni of Winnipeg.
His mother Jacquie Grestoni called him a wonderful person who was full of spirit, had a zest for life, and loved his friends and family. She said the family is still in shock, and funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
The two-vehicle accident happened on Fermor Avenue, just west of the Plessis Road overpass around 7:45 a.m. on Christmas Eve. Another man and a woman were also taken to hospital and were listed in stable condition after the crash.
Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash and are looking to speak with witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6271.
