Police search for suspect in fatal assault

Winnipeg police are searching for a suspect after a man was fatally assaulted early Friday morning.

According to police, emergency crews were providing medical care to a man in the 900 block of Dugas Street around 4:36 a.m. Once officers arrived, they said the man was seriously injured from an assault.

The victim was transported to hospital where he died from his injuries. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police haven’t identified the victim yet and have not shared a suspect description.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information or video surveillance is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
