Winnipeg police have raided a home in the Riverbend community in the Kildonans and seized a huge amount of marijuana.

On Mar. 26, 2009, at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service Green Team executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Glencairn Road.

What police found was a massive grow operation consisting of over 1400 plants with an estimated street value of nearly $1.6-million.

Police also located and seized about $15,000.00 in grow operation equipment.

A 46-year-old female and 47-year-old male are facing the following charges:

- Produce cannabis marijuana

- Possess for the purpose of trafficking cannabis marijuana

- Theft of services over $5000.00

- Mischief over $5000.00.

Both suspects were released on a promise to appear.

Police have not released the names the suspects.
