Winnipeg police said they have received information about a possible sighting of missing Winnipeg woman Thelma Krull.
Constable Jason Michalyshen said Wednesday the potential sighting was made around or near the day Krull disappeared, and was brought to police’s attention after their last update on the investigation in July of 2016.
Michalyshen said a woman who looked similar to Krull was seen in the area of Kimberly Avenue, east of Gateway Road. Police said she was reported to be with a heavy-set Aboriginal man described as five feet eight inches (172 centimetres) tall, about 270 pounds with a bowl style haircut.
Krull disappeared in the morning of July 11, 2015, after she left her home in the Harbourview South area for a hike.
Shortly after her disappearance, Krull’s glasses and cell phone were found in Valley Gardens.
“Clearly this information has the potential to impact this investigation in a significant manner, however more information is required to ultimately determine its relevance,” Michalyshen said at a new conference Wednesday.
“We haven’t confirmed that this is Thelma. We’re at a point now where we need more information.”
Krull's daughter Lisa Besser said in a statement to CTV News they are asking anyone with information to come foward.

Homicide investigators want to talk to anyone who has information about this possible sighting, including those who may have contacted police previously.
