Manitoba’s health, healthy living and seniors ministry is dealing with a security breach.
After receiving a complaint from an outside agency, it found a former employee had inappropriately accessed the personal health information of at least 13 people.
A formal investigation is underway, policies are being reviewed, and the people whose files were accessed are being contacted.
The person is no longer with the ministry.
