Officers have made an arrest for the killing of a 55-year-old man in downtown Winnipeg.

Police were called out to a Manitoba Housing complex in the 300 block of Assiniboine Avenue around 12:15 p.m. on Nov. 6. The body of Hank Louis Lecoy was found in a suite.

Police said the victim and several other people had been socializing in the suite when a male suspect became upset with the victim for unknown reasons.

The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim, before fleeing the scene, said police.

On Nov. 7, officers made an arrest.

Sheldon Tony Genaille, 50, faces a charge for second-degree murder, said police.
