The Winnipeg Jets lost against the Ottawa Senators in their first game of the NHL season.

The final score was 4-1.

Dustin Byfuglien scored the first goal for the Jets in on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the MTS Centre.

Milan Michalek then scored a goal for the Senators in the first period. In the second period, Chris Neil scored a second goal for the Senators. Erik Karlsson and Kyle Turris both scored in the third period.

The Jets will be traveling to Boston for their next game on Monday.

The NHL has started up across the continent after a long hiatus due to a lockout that affected more than half of the games in the season.

Many fans were excited about the event, despite heavy blowing snow in the downtown area.
