A woman who was in a home that was shot at early Monday morning says the violent act was likely related to gang activity.

No one was injured when someone fired a number of shots at the home in the 1800 block of William Avenue West in the Weston area at around 3:30 a.m.

Trina Meeches lives in the home and says she and her boyfriend were sleeping when they were woken up by the sound of gunfire.

"It was like firecrackers," she told CTV News. "Two fire cracks. We were on the ground, man."

Meeches says her boyfriend is in a gang and the shooting was likely related to that. She says they are lucky they weren't seriously injured.

"We were sleeping, like right in front on it. We were right by the window"
