Hold on to your hats today across southern Manitoba. Winds are strong and gusting from the southeast ahead of a pair of low pressure systems that could bring substantial snowfall amounts to parts of the south Wedensday through Friday.

But first, areas in the north already hard hit with snow over the last couple of days will get more tonight, especially in the northwest around Lynn Lake. This next system could bring another 10-15 cm of snowfall.

Tonight, rain will hit the southwest including Brandon. By Wednesday morning snow will be falling in regions along the international border. Snowfall amounts could be as high as 15-25 cm. Further north in Winnipeg, we could get a rain/snow mix.

Then another system will strike the south, including Winnipeg, on Thursday into Friday. Forecast models aren't agreeing just yet whether southern Manitoba will be hardest hit or northwestern Ontario. But there is the potential for heavy snow.

By Saturday, we're back to sunshine and temperatures around freezing before warming up further on Sunday and Monday. So, the melt will get underway quickly.
