Temperatures are on the upswing once again across southern Manitoba, back up into the mid to upper 20s this afternoon.

But there is still enough instability in the region that thunderstorms are possible, especially in Red River Valley and eastern areas. For the most part, any thunderstoms that develop are not expected to become severe. But the odd one could. Strong winds are expected to be the main threat.

A low pressure system that's stalled over the northern half of the province means yet another day of rain or thunderstorms. Regions mainly from Thompson east will see another 5-10 mm of rainfall today with more ahead tonight. In the northwest, similar amounts are expected in Lynn Lake. But the rain will ring out tonight further south through Flin Flon and The Pas.

Back in the south, Friday is shaping up to be the next day with the potential for severe thunderstorms to develop. It will also be the hottest day of the week with a forecast high for Winnipeg 31C.
