After yet another unwelcome round of damaging rain and winds in severe thunderstorms on Monday, today's conditions are much improved in southern Manitoba.
That said, there is enough instability that there is still the risk of late afternoon or early evening thunderstorms. The mix of conditions isn't quite strong enough for any thunderstoms that may develop to become severe, though. But that can always change during a prairie summer.
Meanwhile, rain and thunderstorms will continue today and tonight across central and northern regions. The bigger issue in those areas is not so much the severity of thunderstorms, but rainfall amounts. Some areas could come close to warnings levels: 50 mm/24 hours.
The rest of the week will be sunny and increasing warm in Winnipeg, still expecting to peak with a daytime high around 30C on Friday before rain arrives that night. But it should be out of the way in time for the weekend.
