Sunshine early Monday afternoon in Winnipeg will give way to increasing clouds already building up in Brandon and southwestern Manitoba.
Southeast winds are strong and gusting across the south today, too.
All of this is ahead of a disturbance that will spread snow overnight in the southeast, but should miss the southwest.
Snow from this system will spread across northern regions, too. It will move into the northwest this afternoon before spreading eastward tonight.
Snowfall amounts are expected to be sub-warning in the south with 2-4 cm expected, while the north could see up to 5 cm. That said, Thompson and Gillam could get even more than that.
Snow will likely taper off in Winnipeg by midday on Tuesday. Then Wednesday will be the first of a string of mostly sunny days in the city with mild highs right around the freezing mark through to Saturday.
