Snow will end late this afternoon just as strong north winds will pick up and gust. So, be prepared for potential blowing snow, reduced visibillity and slick roads and highways in Winnipeg and the Red River Valley for the afternoon commute.
Meanwhile, temperatures are dropping this afternoon in the north under a ridge of high pressure as it spreads south. That means southern Manitoba goes back into the deep freeze on Saturday. Maybe a cold comfort, but it will come with lots of sunshine tomorrow.
By Sunday, temperatures moderate again before dropping off yet again for the first half of next week.
