CTV News Winnipeg Skywatch Weather Blog - Tuesday, June 2, 2020
The heat continues in southern Manitoba today, just not quite as much. On Monday, several areas reached the low 30s. Winnipeg reached nearly 32C, the first 30C+ day for the city in 2020.
Today, daytime highs will reach the upper 20s. Severe thunderstoms are showing up this afternoon in the Swan River and Dauphin regions. Those storms should cross into the Interlake and then possibly the Red River Valley by late this afternoon. As the storms moves east, though, the chances of them becoming severe is lower. But not outside the realm of possbility.
Rain and freezing rain (and snow and ice pellets in Churchill!) continue in the north thanks to a slow moving cold front.
The night ahead in Winnipeg could begin early this evening with a shower or thunderstorm. The odds are on the lower end, but still possible. After that, the sky will clear this evening across the south.
Conditions on Wednesday will be much like today in Winnipeg, minus the strong and gusting winds! Don't forget the sunscreen!
