As we approach Halloween on Saturday, a low pressure system is approaching Manitoba first.
Central Manitoba is under a snowfall warning. Regions from Flin Flon, The Pas to Norway House and Island Lake could see 10 to 25 cm of snow, falling heavily at times, from this afternoon through to Saturday. The snow will gradually taper off Saturday from west to east.
There will be a fairly sharp drop off from areas with heavy snow to those with none.
Further south, all of southern Manitoba including Winnipeg and Brandon, will be dealing with very strong, gusting south winds Friday night and from the northwest on Saturday as the low passes by.
If you are still contemplating taking the kids out trick-or-treating on Saturday, take note that in Winnipeg, the city is expecting morning rain turns to snow in the afternoon in very strong northwest winds as the temperatures falls throughout the day into trick-or-treating hours.
Sunday will be far nicer (and don't forget the time change!).
And then a November 'heat wave' arrives on Monday with temperatures back into the double digits through Wednesday!
