RCMP said one man died after two snowmobiles collided with trees in the RM of Grahamdale on Jan. 17.

Emergency crews and police were called to the scene in the Interlake area around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

An initial investigation showed two men had been operating snowmobiles on a groomed snowmobile trail.

While going around a turn, both snowmobiles left the trail and crashed into trees.

A 33-year-old man was rushed to hospital and later pronounced dead, said RCMP.

A 38-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the snowmobilers were wearing helmets at the time of the collisions. Alcohol is not considered a factor in the crashes.

RCMP continue to investigate.
