An overnight storm swept through the Parklands region of Manitoba early Wednesday morning, leaving a path of destruction in its wake.

Environment Canada said winds topped speeds of 100 kilometres per hour in the community of Roblin.

The weather agency isn't ruling out the possibility a tornado hit, but it has not confirmed that.

Residents and Manitoba Hydro crews worked to clean up the mess caused by high winds and lightning.

Shortly after 12 a.m. Wednesday, the storm hit the area hard, toppling hydro poles, damaging conductors and even carrying and flipping an RV into the ditch.

The storm also caused a power outage for some residents in the Roblin, San Clara, Inglis, Russell, Rossburn and Angusville areas. The storm also hit Riding Mountain National Park.

Manitoba Hydro said most residents had power restored by 2 a.m., but some waited for power to be restored until 4 a.m. Officials said others would have power restored later Wednesday morning.
