Winnipeg police say the sudden death of an 18-year-old woman was medically related and they are not pursuing charges at this time.

Emergency responders were called to a home in the 100 block of Lorne Avenue in Point Douglas around 1 a.m. this monring, with word of an unresponsive woman.

Police said the woman was attending a party at a house when she became involved in an altercation.

She was transported to hospital in critical condition and later died.

"It appears there were several individuals in the home that came to her aid, 911 was called, and I can tell you that we’re at a stage of the investigation that we have not made contact with everyone who in the suite at the time," said Const. Jason Michalyshen.

Later Saturday, the homicide unit began conducting interviews while they await results in the autopsy.

No arrests have been made.
