RCMP in Glenboro are looking for arsonists and they want the public's help. A vandalism spree in the town early Friday morning ended with their historic water tower in flames.

The tower was a landmark in the Glenboro, a small town 170 kilometers southwest of Winnipeg.

The historic tower was built by the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1903. In 1996, it was designated a provincial heritage site.

RCMP discovered the water tower ablaze at about 4:00 a.m. Friday.

The fire moved quickly and spread to a nearby rail line, damaging the track.

The same night there were a series of other incidents in the community, including several fires, break-and-enters, and acts of vandalism.

RCMP are asking anyone with information about any of these incidents to call Crime Stoppers at 786-8477.
