Hollywood star Patrick Swayze won over many fans during his screen career and for his brave battle against cancer.

He died Monday in Los Angeles at the age of 57 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

During his career, Swayze developed a special connection with Winnipeg, dancing with local dancers and filming a movie here in 2001, One Last Dance.

Yosuke Mino was one of those who danced with Swayze.

"He was inspiring for us to be around. Because he was 50 (at the time) and he was dancing so well, you know we couldn't give up," said Mino.

Swayze's strength as a dancer will always be remembered, said Mino.
