Police are looking for a suspect after a taxi driver was held up by a man who claimed to have a gun.

The driver was robbed around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, after an unknown man approached the cab when it was stopped at a red light. The suspect, who police say was "agitated," demanded a ride but was refused. He told the driver he had a gun and forced him to give him a ride, police say.

As the victim began to drive, the suspect demanded money and then fled when cash was handed over, police say. The driver was not hurt.

Police were called and officers arrived at Main Street and Market Avenue.

The suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance, 37 to 38 years of age, with short dark black hair and weighing175 to180 pounds (79 to 82 kilograms).
