Starting next month, it's going to cost you more to take a cab.
The Manitoba Taxicab Board has approved an eight per cent increase. Duffy's Taxi, and Unicity Taxi had been asking for 15 percent.
When the changes take effect on November 4th, the average cost of a ten kilometre trip will rise from $15.75 to $17.00.
Even with the rise in cost, Winnipeg cabs are still some of the cheapest in the country. Only Windsor, Ontario has lower fares.
