Winnipeg curling legend Jeff Stoughton shook up the curling world with his announcement that his Charleswood foursome is breaking up.

Stoughton tweeted Sunday afternoon "Moving on…Great four years with Jon and Reid and 2 with Mark. #anyonewanttoplay."

The 50-year-old Stoughton has been a force in Manitoba curling for the past two decades, but struggled this season when it counted most, missing the playoffs at the Olympic trials in Winnipeg this past December.

Team Stoughton also came up short of at this year's Brier, failing to reach the championship game.

According to a report by Paul Wiecek of the Winnipeg Free Press, the team will stay together for two more events before all four members head their separate ways at the end of the season.
